Let's Learn Korean - Polite and Intimate Particle -

 

The Level of Politeness

There are some levels of Politeness in Korean that be used at the end of every word in a statement. But we're just gonna discuss two of them that's usually being used.

a. Polite (아요/어요)

Example:  -  마시다 =       마시+어요= 마셔요
                  -  찾다      =      찾다+아요= 찾아요

So, when a word ends by vowel, add "어요" and if it ends by consonant, then add "아요" into the last word. There are some words that break this rules, but i'll explain it in the next posts.

Example:  -  코피를 마시다 = drink coffee
                   -Declarative:      코피를 마셔요
                   -Interrogative:   코피를 마셔요?
                   -Imperative:       코피를 마셔요!
                   -Exclamatory:    코피를 마셔요

confuse? Korean makes the meaning of the sentences different in this form by the intonation when speaking.

b. Intimate (아/어)

Example:  -  보다  =  봐 
                   -  TV를 봐 = i'm watching TV
                   -Declarative:    TV를 봐
                   -Interrogative: TV를 봐?
                   -Imperative:     TV를 봐!
                   -Exclamatory:  TV를 봐

firstly, i would like to say sorry cuz this post is not related to FT Island. But if you think deeper, this post is actually really related to FT Island.  I mean, if you could speak Korean, you could talk to our treasures. So, just enjoy, ok? kkk

ah, anyway, i'm not gonna write how to read hangeul, cuz i think you can get it in another blog :D so let's start!!

1. Structure of a Sentence

Structure of Korean sentence is subject-adverb-object-predicate. Korean language has emphasing particles >> -가/이 for subject, -에/에서 for adverbial of place and 을/를 for object.
=> Example: 홍기가 인기가요에서 노래를 불러요 = Hongki sings a song in Inkigayo

and because of this particle, we can put the structure in disorder but we can't change the order that the ending word of sentence must be verb or adjective.
=> Example:- 홍기가 노래를 인기가요에서 불러요
                   - 인기가요에서 홍기가 노래를 불러요
                   - 인기가요에서 노래를 홍기가 불러요

                   - 노래를 홍기가 인기가요에서 불러요 
                   - 노래를 인기가요에서 홍기가 불러요
                                     
불러요 doesn't change bcuz it's a verb.

so let's start!! kkk

1. Choi Jong Hoon (최종훈)  >> @FtGtJH

The leader, guitarist, pianist and sometime vocalist kkk. he's so cute, right? >_< 

he made my heart beats so fastly when i watched A man's first love follows him to the grave MV. he's so WOW there! he sacrificed himself for his girl although he already knew that his girl had an affair with Hongki! 헐!

2. Lee Hong Ki (이홍기)  >> 

he's the main vocal of FT Island. A troublemaker, babo and crazy haha..

this is the one who made me in love with FT Island, Jeremy! eh, i mean Hongki oppa kkk

nah, finally, this is my bias! this black goat made me crazy since the beginning of December 2010. i love the way he plays the bass, his voice and his baboness hahaha..

he left FT Island on 28 January 2010. he decided to be a solo singer, so yeah, i have to respect his decision, whatever it is.

i've been being a Primadonna since 2010, after watched YAB and fell in love with Jeremy haha..
